Peter came to the USA in the summer of 1833 through the port of Baltimore and moved on to Somerset, Ohio. An original settler of Big Spring Township, he had purchased 240 acres of Section 4 on 8 Nov 1833 (1 mile ease of St. Peter’s Church9, Alvada OH). Upon returning to Somerset after buying this property, he learned that his wife Maria had died during his absence.
